“Architecture is not just about buildings. It is about creating spaces where life happens. In Sotogrande, we have the privilege of doing that in one of the most beautiful corners of Europe.”
Bradley Falconer's story in Sotogrande begins not in property sales, but in a career that took him from Durban to San Francisco and back before Spain called and he never left.
Growing up in Durban, Bradley studied architecture at the University of Cape Town, one of Africa's most prestigious institutions, and it was in Cape Town that his love of Mediterranean living first took root. The city's climate, its light, its coastline suited him perfectly. After graduating, he headed to San Francisco for a year to gain international experience before returning to South Africa, where he built an impressive career across a number of prestigious architectural firms. He eventually headed up the architecture division at Highlands Holdings, where his portfolio included major corporate accounts for Cisco Systems and SAP. The scale, complexity and precision demanded by projects of that calibre shaped Bradley into an architect of rare capability.
In 2001, he made the move to Spain, joining Predio 2000 the company that would later become the well-known Predio Estates where he served as one of their chief architects alongside respected local architect Antonio Cruzado Pérez. It was here that Bradley developed an intimate understanding of Sotogrande's built environment, its planning landscape, and the standards of design that define the area's finest homes.
When Predio scaled back its building programme, Bradley saw an opportunity. Rather than move on, he chose to stay and BM Sotogrande, Beautiful Mediterranean Properties, was born. In many ways, it was inevitable. Sotogrande offered everything Cape Town had given him the warmth, the light, the unhurried Mediterranean rhythm and something more besides: a community unlike anywhere else in Europe.
Twenty years on, Bradley still takes on four to five architectural projects each year, bringing the same precision and vision to each one. But it's his architectural background that quietly sets BM Sotogrande apart in the property market too. When a client walks into a viewing uncertain about a property's potential, Bradley can do something most agents simply cannot he can show you exactly what it could become. Extensions, reconfigurations, new builds on raw plots he brings a trained eye and decades of local knowledge to every conversation, transforming the buying process from a leap of faith into an informed decision.
Most of all, Bradley loves what Sotogrande brings through its doors every day an extraordinary mix of people from across the world, each with their own story and their own vision of the life they want to build here. Helping them find it, or build it, is what gets him out of bed every morning.
